For both World War's.Grade II listed.War Memorial, Royal Leamington Spa - British Listed BuildingsWar memorial. Erected 1922 with later additions. Sculptor,Albert Toft of Birmingham. Cornish granite plinth and bronzestatue. Plinth square on plan, on stepped base, approximately2 metres high. Surmounted by a life-size figure of a soldier,head bowed and hands resting on upright rifle. The plinthinscribed on four sides, with names of the dead for both WorldWars, Korea, and the Falklands. It was unveiled on 27 May 1922by Lieutenant-General Sir Aylmer Hunter-Weeton.(Imperial War Museum: National Inventory of War Memorials). The bronze statue above. |
