Lt. j.g. Amaya is a physician for the PRT; it is her responsibility to manage all acute illnesses of PRT members and contractors and she works closely with the Forward Surgical Team on operative management and trauma patients. The PRT's mission is to support economic development and effective governance at the district, municipal and provincial level in Farah Province in order to enhance the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s legitimacy and its ability to provide basic services to the people of Farah.
