| 説明 | 69 years of change at the southeast corner of East Hastings & Kamloops Street.Apparently there was a business at 2502 East Hastings called Hastings Garage (1926 to 1939). The 1940 image reveals a vacant lot so it's probably safe to assume that the garage was just demolished prior to the photograph. The 1925 city directory lists "Dobson & Kerr" at this location. John Dobson of Hastings Garage, lived at 3937 Keefer St in Burnaby. William Kerr of Hastings Garage, lived at 2595 East Pender St in Vancouver. Presumably, both were owners/partners with Kerr having the shortest commute with a one-block walk to the garage.I believe there was a supermarket during the 1970s at this location prior to today's VanCity Credit Union building.Large size:www.flickr.com/photos/squeakymarmot/6170705269/sizes/l/in... |
