説明 | James Warner, a Marine aviator, was shot down over Vietnam and inprisoned in October 1967. During his captivity Warner collected the discarded cigarette packages of the camp guards and used them to create his own geometry textbook. He wrote with a bamboo nib; the ink was made with cigarette ashes. The "math book" was 62 pages long. Warner was eventually liberated in March 1973.From the James H. Warner Collection (COLL/4522) at the Marine Corps Archives & Special Collections. |
