| 説明 | A bottle of Collababeire Special Holiday Ale from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales in Dexter, Michigan.Collababeire Special Holiday Ale was the second of three collaboration ales in the Special Holiday Ale series brewed by Stone Brewing Company, Nøgne Ø and Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales in 2008-9; - The first was brewed at Stone in October 2008.- The second (this one) was brewed at Jolly Pumpkin in April 2009. - The third was brewed at Nøgne Ø in late July 2009. While the first and third versions were released back in 2009, the Jolly Pumpkin version wasn't released until 2011 - after spending 18 months on oak barrels. Like the other two, the Collababeire Special Holiday Ale was brewed with a number of spices, such as juniper, sage, caraway and chestnuts, and it has the same alcoholic strength of 9% abv.The beer poured a red tinged deep brown color with a beige head. It sported rich sour ale aroma, with a distinct balsamic vinegar character - reminding me of Rodenbach - and a wonderful spiciness, with a strong spearmint note and juniper as it warmed up. Wonderful! It had a rich, creamy texture. The flavor followed up the aroma with a nice sour character from the oak, enhancing the spicy notes; juniper, spearmint, toasted nuts and sage. The beer had a long spicy aftertaste with lingering sour notes. An awesome beer! |
