| 説明 | A bottle of Lynchburg Natt Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter from Ægir Bryggeri in Flåm at Grünerløkka Brygghus Mat & Mikrobrygg festival 2011.Lynchburg Natt is a limited edition release of their regular Ægir Natt, which has been matured in Jack Daniels barrels (and JD is located in Lynchburg, Tennessee, hence the name of this beer). Like the original beer, Lynchburg is an imperial porter with a strength of 10% abv.It poured a dark brown to black color with a quickly dissipating brown head. Aroma is typical of a barrel aged dark beer with a strong vanilla presence, wood and some caramel but not much of the roasted porter aroma. It had a full bodied mouthfeel with a flat, oily texture. Not much carbonation left. The first flavor to hit my taste buds was a mild caramel note, followed by vanilla, lots of vanilla. But it also sported a good bitter note that balanced the sweetness and vanilla, creating a long finish with vanilla and bitter notes lingering.This is a great barrel-aged beer, though I would prefer a bit less aging to bring out more of the amazing, original porter - I found myself missing its rich coffee and chocolate. |
