| 説明 | I have dusted off this shot of a grey heron in flight from the days when I took pictures of them almost exclusively.I developed two rules of thumb for shots like this:1. No "bum" shots. The bird must be flying towards or past the camera, rather than away. This provides a much better image and rules out all those disturb-the-bird-and-snap-it-flying-off shots; and2. Avoid blue sky backgrounds. Good light is a pre-requisite for capturing birds in flight, but this leads to endless anatomical shots with uniform blue backdrops. The challenge is to get a b/g which is interesting, conveys information, but doesn't distract from the bird itself.This was one of my best efforts ...PhotoAwardsCounter Click here to see the awards count for this photo.
