The museum tells it's story and the part that Norfolk's soldiers, and their families, played in shaping three centuries of global history. The displays, featuring a large range of material, are themed and arranged chronologically, with excellent interpretative panels; designed for those with no military knowledge as well as the military historian. Shirehall is a Grade II listed building.Shirehall - Norwich - British Listed BuildingsOffices 1907. Bath stone and plain tile roof. Corner site. 2 storeys.5 bays, the outer bays canted back. Door to the right of the central baywith moulded surround, 3-light fanlight and heavy hood on consoles. Mullionand transome windows throughout; those at first floor with additional upperlights. Decorated pediment on scrolls above central window with single-lightcasements to each side. Stringcourse at first floor with brackets beneaththe windows. Hipped roofs with finials. |
