| 説明 | Quite literally the City Hall of Florence since 1872, construction on this castle or palace was started in 1299, under the careful eye of Arnolfo di Cambio, the architect of the Duomo and the Santa Croce church. It has served as a local and regional seat of government, a palace for nobility, a prison, and most recently a musem.It was originally called the Palazzo della Signoria, after the Signoria of Florence, the local ruling body. It has also gone by the names Palazzo del Popolo, Palazzo dei Priori, and Palazzo Ducale,depending on what the building was being used for and by whom at any given point in history. Palazzo Vecchio now refers to the fact that it is an "old palace."Most of the bulding is currently a rather interesting and quite spectacular museum, though it is still the seat for the city government, as well as the offices of the Mayor of Florence. |
