説明 | "Borealis" is a permanent sound & light art installation at The Supertrees at Marina Bay, Singapore. It consists of blue and green laser light illuminating clouds of very fine water droplets, known as mist, emanating from the Supertrees. The effect, when seen from below, is said to resemble the Aurora Borealis and Australis (Northern & Southern Lights). A specially-composed score accompanies the light show. The whole event last around 20 minutes. It cannot run if it's raining - which happens quite a lot in Singapore! The show runs after the regular Supertree display on Saturdays and Sundays only.Created by Switzerland-based artist Dan Acher, Borealis is an outdoor art installation that combines layers of light and cloud particles. Accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, variations in wind, humidity and temperature make this installation a fascinating blend of art and technology, an ever-changing experience, where each encounter is unique and where nature holds the final say. Borealis has travelled to more than 40 cities across Europe, Australia, Asia and the US, but Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is the only permanent installation. |
