説明 | The history of this place goes back to the 1290s, though much of it is hazy. It has changed hands many times, through money, intrigues and even violence. It's been owned by various Archbishops of Canterbury, and the infamous Henry VIII 'forcibly' exchanged it in 1537. This house as it is seen today is mostly the work of renovation done in 1603. It is now managed by the National Trust after it was donated in 1947. There is a deer park nearby and some woods to walk around in. |
