| 説明 | The male was occupying the tree cavity at the base of an oak, probably the one suitable for oviposition. Apparently, he was awaiting more than one female. Mating itself took place on the soil surface and lasted maybe 5-10 minutes. After an hour I observed the second mating in the same place, probably the same male and a new female. I don't know if a female deposit her eggs immediately after the mating, however, it is probable.Unfortunately, the place was not ideal for photographing. The best quality pictures I managed were from above and thus, the female is almost invisible. The position of the male was with front legs on the head of a female, the middle legs in the air and the hind legs around the female's wings. I have pictures from other angles, but of the insufficient quality. I will try to postprocess some of them.The photo replaced by the one I have indented to upload. The names were similar. |
