| 説明 | A must-see in Hanoi is Train Street. This metre gauge single track rail link was opened by the French in 1902 and today provides main line long distance train access to Hanoi central station from the East. These large Bo-Bo diesel electrics were built by CKD in Prague to metre gauge for Vietnam Railways. Trains pass just a few inches from watching crowds. Following a fatal accident late last year, the Police have tightened up on safety and security during the day - so now you have to be sitting in a trackside cafe as it passes, but at night no such restrictions exist and with the lanterns and lights of the tourist cafes swinging as they pass, night trains set out on their long journeys to far-away cities as you sip your cocktail or enjoy yet another egg-coffee. |
