| 説明 | Built in 1853-1854 by William G. Morse, this building was renovated to its present First Renaissance Revival-style design under the direction of Wilfred Mansur in 1902, and houses the Columbia Street Baptist Church congregation, founded in 1845 as the Second Baptist Church. The building is characterized by its brick and wooden shingle-clad exterior, gabled roof, rough-hewn stone base, arched bays, stained glass windows, decorative window hoods, bracketed cornice, and twin towers with octagonal open belfries and copper domes. The building today remains in use as the home of the Columbia Street Baptist Church. |
