| 説明 | Built in 1913, this Beaux Arts-style building was designed by Peabody and Stearns to serve as a public library for the city of Bangor, Maine. The building is characterized by its buff brick exterior, stone block base, stone block trim, hipped roof, central metal dome with skylights, cornice with modillions, blind arches, double-hung windows, and large front steps flanking a raised front terrace. The building is a contributing structure in the Great Fire of 1911 Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Today, the building remains in use as a public library. |
