説明 | The Pilgrim’s Way is marked out by poles in the sand and is more direct than the causeway road (used by all other traffic). It is still a popular way to arrive on Holy Island. Walking the three-mile Pilgrim’s Way across the sands from the end of the causeway to the village is undertaken by many visitors to the island, including pilgrims. This is the original route that anyone visiting the island had to follow for centuries, until the 1950s, when the causeway road was built.Scanned Print |
