| 説明 | Built in 1863, this Second Empire-style building was built as a convent for the Sœurs du Bon-Pasteur (Sisters of the Good Shepherd), as well as a parochial school for the Catholic Parish of St. Louis de Lotbinière. The building is clad in buff brick with a mansard roof, gabled dormers, a cornice with brackets, a rooftop cupola with a decorative finial, casement windows, two front entrance doors with decorative trim surrounds, sidelights, and transoms, and a front porch with a decorative wooden railing. The building is characteristic of the village of Lotbinière, and is similar to many historic buildings that can be found throughout rural Québec built in the 19th Century. |
