| 説明 | Built in 1978 as a Modernist structure designed by William Kessler Associates, this building was significantly renovated and expanded between 1999 and 2001 under the direction of Neumann-Smith Architecture. The building was further expanded with another addition in 2008, which houses the University Prep Science and Math Middle School, a STEM-focused magnet school program. The building is clad in metal panels and ceramic tiles, with large window bays, a red glazed brick facade on the first floor of the original wing of the building, and a cylindrical corner theater with a domed roof. The building remains in use today as the home of the Michigan Science Center, a science museum, as well as the University Prep Science and Math Middle School. |
