| 説明 | Yesterday I went to the indoor winter farmers' market here in Brunswick feeling a need for some artisan bread. I found it at the Hootenanny Bread stand. Usually there are musicians playing in this corner as you see here. It not always easy to hear the music as it is acoustic and with a good crown of shoppers the background noise can be quite loud. The gentleman in blue is playing a lap resonator guitar. If you look large you can see the strings are high above the neck. They are tuned to an open chord and the player holds a metal bar that he moves up and down the strings and acts as the fret. There are many types of these lap guitars and they all have a very distinctive sound as the pitch smoothly changes. The strings are not strummed but picked with the right hand. The resonator refers to the metal circle that amplifies the volume. |
