| 説明 | In an old barn on Bäckerstrasse in Bad Ragaz there used to be a communal cold storage room. From 1881 onwards, the breweries used a tunnel built into the rock to store ice from the Giessenpark lake. In the 1920s, the first refrigerators suitable for home use appeared. In the 1950s and 1960s, small communal cold storage facilities like in the photo were operated where one could rent a compartment. If there was a fault that endangered the frozen food, the siren in the upper right corner sounded. Switzerland, December 24, 2024. |
