| 説明 | At the Table(by the Cat Who Observes)They sit at the table, these creatures of height,With their hands and their forks and their endless delight. They feast upon banquets, they sip and they chew,While I on the floor have a bowl filled with goo.Oh, the injustice, the slight, the disdain! What makes me a bowl-dweller, explain? Is it my whiskers, my tail, my paws?Or some arbitrary “law of the claws”?For do I not purr? Do I not prance?Have I not mastered the food-begging dance?Do I not tolerate your patting and cooing,While secretly plotting some hairball-spewing?Yet there you all are, with your napkins and plates,I, relegated to crumbs or your scraps of mistakes.Would it pain you to scoot me a chair to ascend? To treat me as equal, as kin, as a friend?“But you’re a cat!” you scoff and declare,“And cats don’t belong on fine dining chairs!”Well, perhaps I should wear a suit and a tie,Would that earn me a slice of your pie? This caste system of dining, archaic and cruel,Perpetuates rules made by some tyrant fool.Who decided the table was human terrain? Why am I left in this bowl-scaped domain?I dream of a world where all beings may feast,On tables or floors—it matters the least.Where dogs, cats, and creatures of every fur hueCan dine at the table, just like you.So tonight, I may leap, I may take my own stand,Plant my fluffy derrière where your dinner is planned. For fair is fair, and my hunger is stable—It’s time that a cat sat at the table. |
