説明 | Eriogonum incanum near the trailhead to Mount Rose, Carson Range, Sierra Nevada, Washoe County, California. At about 9,000 feet elevation (about 2740 m) on decomposed granite and in the open understory of Pinus contorta (lodgepole pine) and Pinus albicaulis (whitebark pine), frosted buckwheat grows robustly, often to about a maximum height of 1 foot (30 cm) tall. Regardless, a cespitose growth habit, leaves lanate to tomentose on both surfaces, involucres with lobes much shorter than the tube, and flowers with glabrous stipitate petals combine to distinguish this native perennial buckwheat species. |
