説明 | Autumn moorgrass is a cool season late summer flowering bunchgrass that is becoming more common as a landscaping ornamental in the Gallatin Valley area, here along East Babcock Street, east Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana. The flowering spike is a contracted or spicate panicle and the spikelets comprises two short-awned glumes that envelop 2-4 florets with lemmas each with distal teeth (lemma veins extend beyond the distal margin as awn-like teeth). Ornamental moorgrasses in the Gallatin Valley area were brought to my attention by a landscape design student, M. Berryman. |
