| 説明 | Gwangan Bridge is South Korea's first true double-decker bridge. (Although Seoul has a double-decker bridge on the Han River, the two levels are completely separate structures and have separate names.) It was built to bypass the traffic congestion of Gwangan Village and its beach resorts behind it.My vantage point is Dongbaek Island. It was on this spot that the twenty-one heads of state, attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Council summit in 2005, posed for a collective commemorative photo, all dressed in a traditional Korean coat. In fact, I am standing on the very spot that President Roh Moo-hyun had occupied. US President George W. Bush would have been behind my left shoulder. |
