| 説明 | Sydney Harbour Bridge opening, 1932by Hall & CoThe opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on 19 March 1932 attracted huge crowds. Prior to the official opening some 50,000 schoolchildren walked across the bridge, and on the day the general public made the journey for the first time. The event was given added drama when right-wing activist Francis de Groot slashed the opening ribbon with his sword before the official ceremony began.
