説明 | Winter weather has not yet let go in late March at this lumber camp supporting construction of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada, in 1943. The Sweetwater Camp was 13 miles from town.In one of his many letters home to his wife and young family Bill wrote about the surroundings there. "Imagine, if you can, hundreds of Douglas fir about 1 1/2 feet in diameter and 75-80 feet tall, so close they stand about 10-15 feet apart. Then, you have an idea of the Sweetwater Camp. I have taken a few pictures here but there has been so much snow they are hard to get." |
