| 説明 | Built in 1937, this Art Deco-style building was designed by Layton and Forsyth to serve as the Oklahoma County Courthouse. The 11-story building features a massing that tapers with setbacks towards the roofline, a limestone exterior with aluminum trim, decorative metal screens at the central bays of the top floors of the building, decorative Art Deco reliefs, a large sculptural relief over the front entrance bay, a recessed entrance bay with granite steps flanked by two Art Deco-style aluminum lampposts, decorative metal screens at the doorway above the front entrance, decorative metal and stone spandrel panels, a three-story podium at the base, replacement windows, and grassy lawns and trees surrounding the base of the building. The building was expanded with a six-story annex in 1965, which houses additional office space, and is located on the north side of the building. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Today, the building remains in use as the Oklahoma County Courthouse, and seat of the Oklahoma County government. |
