| 説明 | Buildings at the bottom of New Street (near High Street).To the left is Britannia Hotel.The former Marshall and Snelgrove store, on the site of Warwick House. By North, Robin & Wilsdon of London, started 1938 but not completed until 1956 due to the war. Former entrance with upper floors recessed in a segment of a circle, contrasted with projecting segmental balconies, with curly ironwork. Hotel conversion by 1970 by Ted Levy, Benjamin & Partners, with a high mansard.From Pevsner Architectural Guides: Birmingham by Andy Foster.Shops below include an O2 mobile phone shop and a Clarks (currently getting renovated).There are Britannia Hotel flags at the bottom.A lot of Portland stones is used down here. |
