| 説明 | Built in 1929, this Art Deco-style building was originally built as a Montgomery Ward Department Store for Oklahoma City, and remained home to the store until 1966, when Montgomery Ward moved to a regional mall in the suburbs. The building is clad in terra cotta with decorative Art Deco reliefs and motifs, a blade sign mounted to the exterior, replacement windows, large bays at the first and second flors, and gable parapets at the roofline. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, but was bizarrely delisted in 2005 after renovations, despite maintaining a high degree of historic integrity on the exterior beyond what many buildings still listed on the register maintain, especially those in historic districts, as well as the nearby Harbour-Longmire Building. The building today serves as an apartment building, known as The Montgomery. |
