説明 | Heliomeris longifolia, like Heliomeris multiflora, is most abundant in dry disturbed environments, such as alongside the trail and on loose steep slopes on the west- and south-facing slopes of the southern Sandia Mountains. This site lies in montane open understory west of South Sandia Peak, Sandia Mountain Wilderness, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Most populations of Heliomeris longifolia at this time displayed flowers past anthesis and had wilting leaves. This population in contrast was in full anthesis and showed no sign of late summer desiccation. Heliomeris longifolia differs from Heliomeris multiflora by its annual growth habit and narrow leaves that are much longer than wide (mostly 4-8 mm broad). |
