| 説明 | On September 1, 2024, the Sunday before Labor Day, unionized workers at 10 of the 11 New Seasons locations in Portland went on strike to protest poor working conditions and the refusal of New Seasons management to bargain with the union in good faith. Since forming in 2022, the New Seasons Labor Union has repeatedly been ignored at the negotiating table as well as committed numerous unfair labor practices against workers.The strike coincided with a strike by UFCW affiliated workers at Fred Meyer. The stores stayed open with a skeleton crew made up of management, but picketers successfully turned most customers away. |
