| 説明 | This monument, located in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, was erected in memory of Sir Walter Scott, the Scottish novelist, poet and historian. He was also an advocate, judge, and legal administrator.The monument - which is the second biggest monument to a writer in the world - was constructed in 1840-1844 and stands 200 feet 6 inches (61.11 m) high. It's possible to climb the 287 internal stairs to viewing platforms above, with great views over Princes Street and other parts of the city centre. |
