It is currently the community center for the Bhutanese community. It is in the way of progress and will be demolished later this year for a housing development and parking. "The Mifflin District No. 5 Schoolhouse is a former school building in Columbus, Ohio, at 3680 Westerville Road. The building was listed as one of the Columbus Landmarks Foundation's Most Endangered Sites in 2024.[1]The building was constructed around 1907, and serves as a good example of early neighborhood schoolhouses. The brick structure includes a distinctive central tower with exposed rafter tails at its roof overhang.[1] Above the building's front door is an engraved stone reading "Mifflin Dist No. 5". After serving as a schoolhouse, the building was utilized as a summer home (beginning in 1925), full-time residence, and as a house of worship (since at least 1989).[3]A recent proposal involved replacing the building and surrounding 12.5 acres with 264 units of multifamily housing and 398 spaces for cars within parking lots.
