| 説明 | The Ford Thames 400E was a commercial vehicle produced from 1957-65, it replaced the Fordson E83W. They were available in various forms; open or closed backs, buses and even campervans.Initially called the Thames 400E. A bold Thames nameplate appeared on the front beneath which was a circular emblem containing the appropriate figure identifying the vehicle's capacity class; 10, 12 or 15cwt. The last of them in 1965 were badged the Ford 400E.Not only built in the UK, but in Australia and NZ as well. Like the Ford F100s, Australian versions were badged a Ford Freighter. Engine; Consul's 53hp 1703 cc ohv 4 cyl.The Glenelg Dry Cleaners, SA owned and used this van from 1955-69, it came out of retirement in 1979 to participate in the Glenelg Christmas Pageant, which saw a restoration before hand.Gilberts Motor Museum Strathalbyn, SA |
