| 説明 | Osu Kannon, also known as Ōsu Kannon, is a renowned Buddhist temple located in the heart of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. This temple, originally established during the Kamakura Period in Gifu Prefecture, was relocated to Nagoya by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612 due to flood damages at its original site.The temple is a significant cultural site, housing a precious wooden statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and the Shinpukuji Library with over 15,000 classic texts, including national treasures like the oldest copy of the Kojiki. It's also known for the bustling flea market held on the 18th and 28th of each month, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the surrounding Osu Shopping Arcade. |
