説明Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA).Pendant Spring is a hot spring in the northern Geyser Hill Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. It is located 31 meters northeast of Ear Spring and 41 meters west-northwest of Beach Spring. Pendant’s basin is about 4 x 3 meters in size and irregularly shaped, with an off-center vent. Normally, Pendant Spring is quiet, water-filled, and gently overflowing to the west. Colorful microbial mats occur in the runoff channels. In mid-September 2018, northern Geyser Hill experienced a disturbance. This involved unusual activity in multiple thermal features, including Ear Spring, North Goggles Geyser, Grove Geyser, Aurum Geyser, Exclamation Point Spring, and three unnamed geysers. Pendant Spring was reported erupting at this time, but details have not been disclosed in general. One report described Pendant Spring as being in continuous eruption, about two feet high, from a low water level, with muddy water. Another report referred to milky water. In June 2019, Pendant Spring was active as a low perpetual spouter, erupting from a low water level, confined to the vent area itself. The inner and outer basins were subaerially exposed. Activity cycled from mild, small splashing to moderately noisy splashing, with no overflow or runoff. In June 2024, Pendant Spring was still drained of water - it has not recovered its pre-2018 beauty. The basin's geyserite / siliceous sinter has weathered and crumbled.
