説明 | Sawflies are closely related to wasps. These live on Conospermum plants. This female sawfly appears to be laying eggs on the plant. They have a saw like appendage on their abdomen to cut grooves in a stem, they then lay their eggs in the grooves sometimes using a foamlike substance to protect the eggs and seal them to the branch. Note the males have bifid or divided antennae making it look like they have 4 antennae. |
