説明 | Two Totem Poles were carved in Classic Coast Salish style by Master Carvers Charles Elliott of the Tsartlip Nation and Doug La Fortune of Tsawout Band, and dedicated on September 9th, 2004 not only to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Butchart Gardens but also in recognition of the rich cultural heritage provided by Indigenous People. For more info on this totem pole, The Butchart Gardens is a world famous 55-acre display garden located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. Created by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada, in 2004 for its one hundredth birthday. Today there are millions of bedding plants in over 900 varieties, supported by 26 greenhouses and 50 full time gardeners. (from www.butchartgardens.com ) |
