| 説明 | The University of Oregon's Popular University for Gaza encampment came to an end Thursday, May 23, 2024, following an agreement reached with the University. Protesters agreed to decamp in exchange for several concessions, including an official call for a ceasefire by President Karl Scholz, an end to Sabra hummus in dining halls, full-ride scholarships for several Palestinian students, a joint faculty-student working group instructed to investigate UO's investments, a partnership with Birzeit University in Palestine, new Palestinian-focused Middle Eastern studies courses, and a new Middle Eastern cultural center, as well as amnesty from sanctions for all involved students.Camp-related materials were removed from Johnson (Alareer) Hall the previous day, followed by a total decamping which ended by 9 p.m. Thursday. Most tents and other supplies had already been moved by the time these photos were taken around 3:30 p.m. |
