| 説明 | After gathering at the University of Oregon Gaza Solidarity Encampment, protesters marched over to Johnson Hall where they rallied and held a mock trial of UO President Karl Scholz, Chair of the Board of Trustees Steve Holwerda, and UO Foundation President Paul Weinhold. The three were found guilty of complicity in genocide, occupation, and apartheid because they refuse to divest from Israel.After the trial, several people chained themselves to the columns and others gathered for a sit-in at the steps. The camp was moved from the Memorial Quad to the front of the hall later in the day.Johnson Hall was renamed Alareer Hall after the murdered Palestinian writer Refaat Alareer, who was killed by an Israeli airstrike in December 2023. |
