| 説明 | Built in 1929-1931 and expanded to its present size in 1937, this Art Deco-style building was designed by Leon B. Senter of Smith and Senter for Waite Phillips, an oil tycoon, to serve as a commercial office building and shopping arcade. The building stands 13 stories and 167 feet (51 meters) tall, and features an orange brick exterior, terra cotta trim, a terra cotta and gray granite-clad base, one-over-one windows, a deep light well on the north side of the building, decorative Art Deco-style reliefs, large bays at the second and third floors with Chicago-style windows, and tall corner and entrance bays with decorative trim surrounds. Inside, the building features an art deco-style lobby with a vaulted ceiling painted with murals, Art Deco-style chandeliers, marble-clad walls, brass trim, and terrazzo floors. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and is a contributing structure in the Oil Capital Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The building today houses a variety of commercial office and retail tenants. |
