| 説明 | This vintage railroad mile marker is at Marion Union Station in Marion, Ohio. It was originally trackside a mile east of the station. The number 304 is in reference to the distance from Salamanca, New York ("Milepost Zero") to Marion, Ohio along the original Erie Railroad. From Marion, the line headed southwest to Dayton, Ohio, where milepost 388 was. The post itself is made of concrete with steel reinforcing bars ("rebar") inside.The milepost was cosmetically repaired with fresh concrete not long before this shot was taken (probably 1 or 2 days earlier). |
