| 説明 | George H. Ellison, Sr. (1931-2004) was an active and vocal supporter of public higher education in Massachusetts. He has served as chairman on the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts State College system as was appointed twice to the board of Regents. Dr. Ellison served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1959 – 1972 and was the first recipient of the association's “Distinguished Alumni Award”. He was honored by Salem State College in 1981 with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. The Student Union Building on North Campus was named in honor of George Ellison in 1988.
