| 説明 | Built circa 1910, this Beaux Arts-style building was constructed as one of two annexes onto the original McLure House Hotel, which was built in 1852, and renovated prior to the time the two newer wings were constructed. The building remained in use as part of the hotel until 1984, when the other wing from the same time period was heavily altered, and a new wing, which was constructed on the site of the original hotel building, was completed. The building features a brown brick front facade with red brick side and rear facades, a stone base, stone trim, one-over-one windows, an oriel window at the central bay of the third floor with large decorative brackets, large first floor bays with storefronts, metal balconies, elliptical oxeye windows at the seventh floor, and a cornice with large brackets and dentils. The building is a contributing structure in the Wheeling Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The building presently serves as month-to-month rental apartments. |
