| 説明 | (screen capture video from the Grindavik web camera atop Thorbjörn)------------------------------------------------At 6:02 AM, local time, on 8 February 2024, a fissure eruption started in southwestern Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, at Sundhnúkur Crater Row, just northeast of Mt. Sýlingarfell and north-northeast of the town of Grindavik. As with previous eruptions in this area, the active fissure lengthened relatively quickly and basaltic lava flows spread out in multiple directions. Eruptive activity ceased the following day, 9 February 2024. |
