| 説明 | Founded in the 900s BC as one of the first Greek City-States on the island of Rhodes, Lindos was one of six Dorian cities in the area known as the Dorian Hexapolis. It became a major trading center by the 700s BC, and remained a prominent city on the island of Rhodes until the city of Rhodes was founded in the 400s BC. The town continued on as a less prominent coastal village during the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Knights Hospitaller, Ottoman, and Italian Colonial periods, and today is a major tourist destination due to its picturesque limewashed buildings, towering acropolis, and beautiful coastal bays. |
