| 説明 | Built in the 1400s, this Byzantine-style church is a relatively simple structure, with a stone exterior, few windows, and an arched doorway. The building served as a church until the Ottoman takeover in 1522, and then served as a small house until the early 20th Century, when it was restored to use as a church under the Italian Colonial government, similar to many other former churches in Rhodes. The building today is utilized as a Greek Orthodox Church, and is part of the Old Town of Rhodes, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. |
