説明Built in 1913, this Classical Revival-style fountain was built by the Alliance Israelite Universelle School to serve as a fountain for the school and the surrounding Jewish Quarter of Rhodes. Following the expulsion of the Jewish community, the fountain survived the bombing of the Jewish Quarter during World War II, and was restored, today serving as a memorial to the vanished Jewish community. The structure is part of the Old Town of Rhodes, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
