| 説明 | Built in 1588, this Ottoman-era mosque was constructed to serve the growing Muslim population of Rhodes due to its control by the Ottoman Empire. The building features a stone exterior with a truncated stone minaret, arched bays with windows and doors, a cylindrical dome below a red terra cotta tile-clad dome, decorative carved stone trim, a decorative surround at the carved wooden entrance door, and a front porch with a domed roof and pointed arched openings. The building served as a mosque until the 20th Century, but has since fallen into disrepair, and is presently closed. The building is part of the Old Town of Rhodes, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. |
