| 説明 | Having entered one of the tea estates in the Cameron Highlangs near Ipoh, Malaysia, we decided that a Range Rover ride would be the best option to get a feel of the estate. I am not into ATVs, having tried unsuccessfully in Phuket a couple of years ago, and the air swing (ziplilne) was definitely not for me. I was excited about the safari part of the ride, and was hoping to see some of the native fauna, sadly, that turned out to be the biggest farce of the entire ride! More on that later. Developed in the 1930s, the Cameron Highlands tablelands are one of the oldest tourist spots in Malaysia. Apart from tea estates,the plateau is also noted for its cool weather and salubrious climate, fruit orchards, nurseries, farmlands, vegetable cultivation, waterfalls, rivers and lakes, wildlife, mossy forest, a golf course, hotels, places of worship, bungalows, Land Rovers (mostly serving the tea estates), a museum and native inhabitants. With barely a few hours at my disposal, having driven down from Ipoh, I could not of course see all these in that limited time. (Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) |
